This was a very nice standard room at a great rate. It was clean and comfortable and cozy. There were no problems in the room and the beds were comfy. I was a little worried from some of the other reviews but quickly found out that this was going to be a great stay. Even the hallways were clean, bright and cheery with carpet that looked new. The elevators worked quickly and the food serviced down below does the job. Don't miss the pool on the 27th floor. It was clean and fresh and the hottub was hot! And the view was breathtaking looking over the city. As a bonus, my room faced Gerard street allowing me a birds eye view of the pride parade without having to ever leave the room and join the crowds. Now that was a bonus. I say thumbs up, Delta!

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We had a standard room. The room was a little small and a little dark. However, it was comfortable since we spent very little time in the room.
The kids loved the corkscrew slide at the pool. I would not recommend this hotel for a family with very young children as the pool does not have a shallow part and children must know how to swim in order to use the slide.
We did not eat at any of the restaurants in the hotel, as the were very expensive.
Parking was also steep at 23.00 per day. However, I got a good rate for a downtown Toronto hotel, so I can't complain too much.

Was booked at the Delta Chelsea in connection with a conference, and stayed for three nights in a standard room. The carpet had crumbs on the floor, the bedding was tired, and the sink was stained and had an aged rubber stopper. As a result, the room did not feel clean and fresh.
On the more positive side, the staff was extremely kind and helpful, the business center was excellent, my room was a good size, and I enjoyed some of the excellent restaurants nearby (try Adega, a gem of a Portuguese restaurant).
No doubt there are better hotels in Toronto, but the Delta Chelsea is adequate if you book in a standard room. I suspect that the experience is better if you book in a better class of rooms. Kudos to the Delta group in training staff to be especially helpful and courteous-- I was truly impressed by the staff.

The Delta Chelsea in Toronto is well located within the shopping district (Eaton Centre). Many would also consider it to be within walking distance to some tourists attractions such as CN Tower, Skydomw, Entertainment district - well pretty much there is to see in downtown TO.
The Delta Chelsea is a fairly large hotel and your experience will greatly be influenced on the type of room you will be getting.
During my last stay, I had access to a Signature Club room with lounge access and the room was very nice (renovated). Beware: Do not book the 1-bedroom suite if you are looking for a romantic getaway. These rooms are more family oriented (separate kitchen, living room, bedroom), are quite old (they are in a very bad need of an upgrade), and relatively dusty. Most rooms at the Delta Chelsea have a small balcony (This location used to be an appartment building years and years ago).
The hotel features a lot of food options from the more expensive/traditional sit-down dinner BB33 bistro to the more casual food court/cafteria style Market Garden. The Market Garden actually offers very good value and has good food. I have found the BB33 to be way overpriced for the quality of the food.
The Delta Chelsea is probably one of the most affordable big-chain hotel in downtown Toronto and has extremely good rates during quieter times (winter, some weekends,...) So if you are looking for an affordable downtown TO getaway, but are willing to take some chances with the room itself (old vs new), this place may be for you.
Top-tier member of Delta frequent guest program (Platinum/Platinum Plus) should not have any problems securing a good room, at a great price
One last thing, the hotel has a very nice gym/pool on the rooftop (indoor) - so if keeping in good shape is important for you, this may be a place to consider
