Terrible Staff

We had booked 2 twin rooms at this hotel. Upon checking in we were told there were no twin rooms available and that apparently we hadn't booked them. I explained I had and that I had also called the hotel to confirm the booking and twin rooms the previous week.
The lady said she would sort it out for us the following morning so we went to our rooms, and didn’t unpack.
The next morning I went to reception to swap rooms. I was told that we hadn’t booked a twin and there was nothing they could do. The staff were all quite rude to me basically saying it was my fault and they weren’t going to do anything about it. They went on to explain that there were only 10 twin rooms in the whole hotel...
They argued with me for over an hour. I said they had to do something as it was their fault...they’re only suggestion was that that would 'give' us one 'superior' twin room but we would have to pay extra! Obviously this was not an option for us, why should we pay more for something we had already booked? After further 'discussions' they agreed to give us one twin room at no extra cost.
The 'superior' twin room turned out not to be superior, it was identical to the double room we had just moved from...
Trying to order a taxi from the reception staff was a frustrating experience too. They were very unhelpful in everything we asked for. We were made to feel that everything we asked for was a HUGE problem.
The customer service in this hotel is appalling. I will be writing to the management of the hotel to officially complain.
It’s a real shame the staff were like this as the hotel itself is lovely. Great location and very clean. Although they do lie about the distance to places...the beach is around a 20 minute bus ride away. Valencia Airport is around an hour in a cab ( around 90 euros) or 1 hour and 45 minutes by taxi (10mins)/ train(1hr)/ metro (20mins) and is around 15 euros.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip to the city.
The hotel is in a residential area with a very traditional Spanish feel. The rooms were fairly small, but nicely furnished and the bathroom was exceptional. It had a large mirror, hairdryer, marble effect finishes and the best shower I have ever had - I could have stayed in there for ever!
There is also a fridge in the room stocked with soda and water - all of which are free. In the lobby area, you will find a nice relaxation area although there is no bar and you have to place your drinks order with reception so service is a little on the slow side.
However, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Round the corner from this hotel is a 'square' where locals sit in the evening in coffee houses and bars and chat, meet friends and relax. The square is a padestrian area and kids run around and let off steam. it really is nice to see proper Spanish way of life instead of the usual touristy places.
A 5 minute taxi ride will take you to the nearest beach, again no tourists here! You will find Spanish people relaxing, chatting to friends and having a game or two of volleyball on the beach after work. There are a few bars right on the beach, but not a lot else.
The local bars are great - there is no closing time - they shut when the last person leaves!
I was in Valencia on business, so did not see much else, but would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and helpful staff.
