A family member had just had a long surgical procedure at Wilmington Hospital, was the last procedure of the day, and was to spend the night at the hospital. After being "kicked" out of the hospital that night I had to find a place to stay. Was able to get a Hospital voucher which from which I called the Courtyard to see if I could afford to stay there. The front desk staff was so pleasant and helpful and gave me a rate that, while not cheap, I could stay and not lose any sleep. When I was able to locate the hotel, I pulled up and checked in. After a long day at the hospital I was exhausted and in dire need of some rest. Seeing my condition, one of the clerks offered to park my car for me so I wouldn't have to drive to the garage. It was the nicest gesture I received while on my trip. When I checked out the next morning I again found the desk staff so pleasant. They made sure I had my keys, even offered me an apple since I had no time for breakfast, and made sure my parking ticket was validate. It has been a long time since I have had this type of service. Bravo! Almost as a side note, the room was well appointed, mattress comfy, and everything was clean. I was so very comfortable and happy.

Needed a hotel to stay for a friends surprise birthday party in Downtown Wilmington- This suited our needs perfectly! Was only 5 miles from the party location and check in and check out was a breeze. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable.
Parking was a pain, because you had to walk outside and around the corner to the hotel and it was cold out since it was February- but at least the parking is free on the weekend-
No food options really at the hotel on the weekends- but many good restaurants nearby within walking/short driving distance- we did not bring our laptop - but there were a few computers in the lobby that you could use and print out things for free which was nice. Perfect for our 1 nights stay!

In town on business; original rate quoted was $196. Prefer to stay at Marriott properties because I'm a Marriott Rewards Gold member. However, for the $196 price, this hotel is extremely average. No free breakfast is included ($9.95 for a mediocre buffet). Parking is $9.50 at an adjacent lot. Rooms are standard, my view on the 5th floor (even-numbered room) was of a brick wall. Bathroom is quite small (don't even think of 2 people trying to share it). Very nice front desk staff and clean accomodations. If I were to return, I would choose another hotel because it was only "ok" for an expensive price.

I was at the hotel to have a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday. I made my reservations online through their website and I used my marriot rewards points. When I got to the hotel they found my reservation and checked me in. I enjoyed a nice time out celebrating my birthday splurging and having fun. The following day I went online to check my bank account (in order to go to the ATM and withdraw money) and found that the hotel did not apply my marriot points, but instead charged me for the entire trip which in turn put a hold on all my funds ( I had not alloted for these extra charges)plus put my account in the minus. I was flat broke! I had used my cash on hand to pay for car-services. I made the registration desk aware of the error, but the correction would not take place for 2-4 business days. By that time I would already be home. I was obviously devestated. The manager (Robin) tried really hard to correct the problem, but it was impossible due to my banks policies. To make up for this error they gave me a complimentry upgrade to a spa suite. I had to use my $100.00 incidental charge in order to have meals for the next two days. Also, I had not purchased a return ticket to get home because I had plans to visit two other states so, I had no money to get back to NYC. I had to call my sister and have her purchase a ticket for me get home. Very long and sad story short.
Always make sure when you're checking in that they understand that you are using other means of payment, such as your Marriot points or if you paid already through Travelocity.com or Hotels.com, because they did casually state that this type of error does happen frequently where they charge when they should not. (That's why they have a letter already established to fax to the bank!) I feel that their computer system should have a block set-up to prevent this type of error from occuring this would save a lot of headached and embarassment.

Really nice hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was great, and the location was good. The city itself was dead on the weekend and there was nothing to do(other than the event we were in town for). But the hotel was nice and central to restaurants and downtown.
