This is a great place to stop in in Tuscaloosa. It's close to the freeway and a few restaurants, as well as a cinema. Very comfortable. If you can't stay here, hit the Fairfield Inn next door.

Stopped for one night at the Courtyard by Marriott ( on Courtney Dr.in Tuscaloosa )in May, 2007 and found the property to be OK but not anything special. We are Marriott Platinum members and stay at hotels approx. 7-10 nights a month, mostly Marriott and Hilton and so are very picky about cleanliness, decor /design and the general feeling about hotels. We had stayed at the Fairfield next door recently (see review), but decided to try the Courtyard this trip since we generally like the Courtyards better. The lobby was very nice and the front desk staff very friendly so we were happy with our first impressions. Our room however, was not quite as nice. It did have a new easy chair, new lamps and drapes and the carpet seemed new, but the furniture was a bit tired and the frig/microwave had a very odd placement in the room stacked on top of each other ( more like a cheaper motel and not a Courtyard) and the wall a/c also had an odd placement in wall. The bathroom, although clean , had very thin cheap towels, solid surface counters and needed to be upgraded to be on par with other Courtyards. The mattresses were great and seemed new, and although the linens were clean and fresh, the bottom sheets popped off the corners all night .
We paid a AAA rate of $98.79 with taxes and although that is an OK rate for a Courtyard, it seemed a bit high for this property and we would probably not stay here again unless we used points or got a better rate. If you can get a rate of about $75-80. then stay here , otherwise go next door to the Fairfield where the rooms are nicer and the rates better.

Room was clean but worn and smelled a little like dog (even though the hotel doesn't allow pets). Front desk staff (especially Matthew and Tiffany) were wonderfully helpful. Breakfast staff was super nice and maids were friendly and courteous.
Would definitely book this hotel again.

We stayed at the Courtyard after my daughter's surgery in Houston. My mother, 7 year old, 3 year old and I stayed and it was great. The room was clean and breakfast was great-something for everyone.
