Best Hotel in Town

I am originally from Goshen, and I come to town for the county fair each year. This is by far the best hotel in town. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the front desk staff is very helpful. There is a nice indoor/outdoor pool, a hot tub, and a nice outdoor patio. The hotel has a convenient breakfast area, and many restaurants are conveniently located nearby within walking distance. It is true that the hotel does not have an elevator to the second floor because it was originally constructed as a Carlton Lodge, but that is the only disadvantage. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My husband and I recently visited Amish Country and wanted to treat ourselves to a nicer than average hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't get it. It was nice enough, but only average and there were some problems. There is no elevator! If you have trouble with stairs, be sure to request a first floor room. Breakfast may be great, but we didn't experience it because they stop serving at 9 a.m. The housekeeper knocked on our door every morning at 8:30. Hey, we're on vacation! The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom door stuck , the faucet was hard to work and the bed was hard. Oh yeah, the ice machine didn't work. Overall, a disappointment. Not worth the extra money. We could have stayed at a lower priced hotel and gotten just as much as this one. Thumbs down for me.

Nice hotel for a catagory 2

The hotel is very nice for only being a catogory 2. (Marriott rates thier hotels 1-7). The hotel staff is very friendly and nice. We did ask one lady at the desk directions to Nappanee and I am certain she sent us off in the wrong direction on purpose. But I could have misunderstood her.
The pool area is nice. It has an indoor/outdoor pool that was alot of fun. The hotel breakfast was good. I think it was like $8 a person. In hindsight we could have walked across the street to Mcdonalds and ate much cheaper.
The rooms were clean and well maintained.
The only downside to the hotel is there is absolutly no vending machine on site. So if you want a snack you have to go to the store. (There is a wal-mart a couple blocks up the road).
All in all it was a nice hotel, nothing fancy but a clean place to stay.
Nice Place Enjoyed the stay

Visited Goshen IN August 15-16. Drove from South Bend. It was a bit difficult to get on the highway (at night) but once we found it the trip was nice. Watch out for state patrol and local police cars. They enforce speed limit. Luckily we did not get the Ticket. Stayed at Marriot In Goshen. Extremely nice place to stay- clean and quiet and the staff is very friendly. We did the normal stuff that tourists do - Breakfast at Old Bag Factory. Very reasonable price s, good food and good service. The owner is very friendly. Good stuff to see at the factory. Unfortunately, the items we liked were beyond our means. My wife has started buying the lottery tickets and has vowed to buy some wood furniture at the OLd Bag Factory. Please pray for her. Had dinner at Dad Essen House. Good food but we had to wait for nearly an hour to get a table. We were 15 in the Group. Nice weather, very friendly people and a different culture. You will love it there. We also attended a party at "Bread & Choclate" Good place, nice service and decnt food.
