Stayed 3 nights Oct 2007, Fri to Mon. Just over 300 euro including breakfast booked through the NH website. Weather was 23C which was lucky. Santander is a great little city for a short break. Dehesa Santa Maria bar with tapas was lovely and excellent value. A great selection of bars and eateries in town. The beaches at Sardinero and along Magdelena are beautiful. The hotel was in a good location 5 minute walk to the town or sea front port area or 20 minute walk or short bus trip for 1 euro, or 3 euro in a taxi to Sardinero Beach area. We thought the hotel would be much better than we found as it was rated no.1 on the Trip Advisor popularity index. It is certainly adequate and I would rate it as a two to three star. The bedroom was tiny, the bed tiny and the bathroom had poor ventilation so had a slight musty smell. The fittings in the room were nice. With only one small window and the air conditioning not used in autumn it was exceptionally hot. We were at the front of the hotel and it had a small but very, very noisy bar opposite until after 2am. The night staff were friendly and the ladies as we were leaving were really helpful and gave us 20 euro off the bill when we explained we were unsatisfied with the response we had from one staff memer. It was when were told the air conditioning was broken and it was tough the room was hot and when we had NO towels and were told the housekeeper had gone home, when we begged the lady relented and gave us 1 bath and 1 hand towel to share!! Would definately return to Santander but would stay in a different hotel.

En el NH Ciudad de Santander no recibes sorpresas. Sabes que pertenece a la cadena NH y te esperas lo mejor. La habitación era estupenda, no muy grande pero plenamente funcional y muy bien decorada. El baño, perfecto. Nosotros reservamos una oferta de fin de semana que incluía desayuno buffet, que era espectacular, con muchísima oferta: Tostadas, croissants, bollos, tartas, fruta, zumos, etc. La situación del hotel es muy buena, a un par de minutos de la plaza del Cañadío. El parking del hotel tiene plazas limitadas por lo que conviene no llegar muy tarde por las tardes al hotel, ya que en los alrededores parece difícil aparcar. En general, un 10, que es lo esperado en los NH.

Pasé una semana en Santander después de haber conseguido una oferta de fin de semana muy razonable a través de la página web de NH. El hotel es nuevo, muy bien situado y cerca de muchos establecimientos buenos para comer. Aunque nuestra habitación era una de las más pequeñas, situada en el piso cuarto, estaba limpia y bien equipada. El personal era muy servicial, desde recomendarnos restaurantes hasta ayudarnos en encontrar transporte para visitar Santillana del Mar. El desayuno bufé es uno de los mejores que he probado en España, una buena selección de fruta fresca, carne, queso, así como cereales y bollería. Recomendaría este hotel a cualquiera que visite Santander, bien por motivo de negocios o como turista.

Spent a weekend in Santander and got a very reasonable weekend package rate from the NH website. The hotel is new and in a good location, close to many good places to eat. While our room was one of the smallest in the hotel, on the 4th floor, it was clean and well appointed. The staff was very helpful, from suggesting places to eat to helping arrange transport for a visit to Santillar Del Mar. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen in Spain, a good selection of fresh fruit, meats and chesses, as well as cereal and pastries. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santander, either on business or as a tourist.
