We stayed here for 3 nights and found it well situated for Santiago which we found to be a lovely city with a great atmosphere.
The hotel is modern and a little impersonal but the facilities were ok and we weren't bothered by noisy neighbours. The breakfasts which were included in our "deal" were excellent with plenty of choice.
Beware though,we thought the car park outside belonged to the hotel until we couldn't find a space to park and reception told us it's a public carpark so we had to pay extra to use the hotels garage parking.

Good but not amazing

Having seen all the glowing reviews of the hotel and its ranking of No 2 on the Trip Advisor website, I'm afraid I had a mixed experience of this venue but on the whole, it's a good hotel.
So, in summary:
The Good Points:
Beds are very comfortable
Power shower is a winner
Tastefully furnished throughout the hotel
Although it's a 10 minute walk to the town centre (and it rains a lot in Santiago), it's a blessing in disguise as the City can get fairly busy and it's a nice way to walk off those great meals!
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The Bad Points
Noise is a bit of an issue I'm afraid as we could hear the rooms next door quite easily - and by that, I mean when they took a shower and also when the TV was on (and given the fact that the hotel's main type of resident is Spanish, don't expect your next door neighbour to have an early night's sleep as they probably won't have finished dinner till 11pm!).
The swimming pool, as other reviews comment, is a joke. Don't expect any exercise in it or having it all to yourself.
TV channels in the room are very limited if you only speak English. They only have Sky News (adapted version) and CNN although bizarrely, plenty of German channels such as RTL, given that we didn't encounter one German-speaking tourist in Santiago or Gallicia.
So, on the whole, a mixed experience - but it's good value for money given the prices of other 4/5 star hotels in the town centre and if you speak Spanish or German, and you don't have a noisy next door neighbour, you're onto a winner.
Oh, and Santiago is a fantastic city.

The hotel isn't perfect, but I highly recommend it and I'll tell you why...
Most important... you are within walking distance of Santiago's historic city center without actually being IN the city center. This means -- peace and quiet! The city is amazingly beautiful... so many things to see, but the tourist crush is enough to drive you MAD. You'll thank me when after a day of pushing and shoving through the hordes, you return to the NH Obradoiro -- a veritable island of peace in this divine, but overly crowded town.
The rooms at the NH Obradoiro are very, very nicely furnished... modern, minimal, clean with a flair that just hints at luxury. The building -- though modern and architecturally out-of-place in this medieval city -- still impressed me. Some may find it cold -- I found it overwhelmingly serene.
My only gripe with the hotel regards the spa and pool area. For such a large hotel, you'd think the pool would be able to accommodate more than, say, 8 people... and I'm being generous. The "spa" area -- for such an expensive, well-rated hotel -- is really a joke. This is too bad... minus one star for having to elbow my way into the pool for a swim that couldn't last more than 3 minutes.
A few other notes that may be of interest to would-be guests: the air conditioning is tip-top, Internet service is on the VERY expensive side, and breakfast is not included in the price of the room.
But still GO... you'll love it.

Hi
My hubby & I stayed in the Obradoiro in early May of this year. We both loved it. The pool is not huge but we both love saunas & steam rooms and this hotel had both. The breakfast was extra but we had got an excellent deal on the hotel so we didn't mind paying. The breakfast had everything you would want & more. It set us up 'til lunchtime. The staff were lovely & very helpful with directions. They couldn't have been any nicer than they were. Its a very short walk to the main sights from this hotel & near the university. There is a lovely stream beside the hotels & if you're lucky you will get to see the ducks crossing the road and stopping traffic to boot. There are loads of them in the stream & along by it which was lovely.
